PRESS RELEASE: Health Cloud Initiative joins forces with Uw Zorg Online

Team Health Cloud Initiative joins forces with Uw Zorg

Amsterdam, June 7, 2023 – The digital care platform Uw Zorg Online becomes part of Health Cloud Initiative, a fast-growing provider of healthcare software within a wide range of healthcare disciplines. By joining forces, a large part of the Dutch healthcare providers are digitally linked to healthcare consumers. The transaction is part of a buy-and-build strategy supported by investor Vortex Capital Partners and makes appropriate care better and faster accessible to all Dutch people. As a result, healthcare costs are expected to rise less rapidly in the long term.

Using a personal health environment, Uw Zorg Online currently easy online access to care at almost all GPs, hospitals and a large part of all pharmacies in the Netherlands. In the short term, the software and services of Health Cloud Initiative integrated, linking 21.000 paramedical care providers to the care platform at once. By reducing the administrative burden for care professionals and simplifying the contact between care providers and the care consumer, more time is created for care.

The collaboration offers healthcare providers an integrated all-in-one solution, linked to the Electronic Patient Record (EPD). This enables efficient interaction with patients. The integration of both platforms enables healthcare consumers to easily ask healthcare questions online and to contact a wide range of healthcare providers, such as general practitioners, physiotherapists, speech therapists and pharmacists.
This creates a future-proof environment in which patients are involved in their treatment plan. In this way, the platform responds to the increasing demand for Personal Health Environments (PHEs) and aligns with government policy to keep care accessible to all Dutch people.

Through the collaboration with Uw Zorg Online and previous acquisitions by HCI of Nice SoftwareIncuraFysioRoadmapEvry en CRS Mental Health software approximately 30.000 healthcare providers now work with Health Cloud Initiative products on a daily basis. In total, the company employs 150 people and has a turnover of 20 million euros.

More time for care

Marc Prette was appointed CEO of Health Cloud Initiative in April and took over from founder Eric de Boer. De Boer will focus on the further expansion of Health Cloud Initiative in the coming period. Prette has a background at Anicura, Bergman Clinics and The Boston Consulting Group: “Digitalisation is crucial to guarantee the quality and accessibility of care for everyone now and in the future. Both on the patient’s side and on the care provider’s side. We create more time for care by reducing administrative burdens and by giving control to the patient and involving them more. Combining both propositions leads to better and more accessible care, both from the perspective of the care provider and the patient. Furthermore, Uw Zorg Online a unique platform that we want to use to further develop our joint eHealth strategy and make it accessible to patients and healthcare providers.”

After joining forces, the founders Gideon Kreytz and André Blom, including the management of Uw Zorg Online, on board. Director Wieger Vos of Uw Zorg Online joins Health Cloud Initiative board: “Uw Zorg Online is already the platform to arrange your own care online with your GP and pharmacy, for example to make an appointment or request a repeat prescription. By linking it to the Health Cloud Initiative software, more than 21.000 additional healthcare providers and their patients can benefit from the advantages of online care in one environment. In this way, we create time for healthcare providers that they can spend on real care and patients get more control over their health.”
