PRESS RELEASE: SpotOnMedics and Health Cloud Initiative join forces

SpotOnMedics application on computer and phone

Amsterdam, Aug. 26, 2024 - SpotOnMedics, provider of EHR software for physical therapists, will continue under the umbrella of Health Cloud Initiative (HCI). HCI, a fast-growing provider of healthcare provider software in various disciplines, has acquired the shares of SpotOnMedics from VvAA. This gives HCI a leading position in the physical therapy software market. This joining of forces enables both companies to better respond to the rapidly changing healthcare market and contribute to a higher quality of care.

SpotOnMedics, founded in 2011, offers an all-in-one platform that allows physical therapists to efficiently manage their practice processes from one online environment. This results in more time for patient care. Following the acquisition, SpotOnMedics will continue to operate independently under the HCI umbrella, with the current team and from the Hoofddorp office. In time, the best features of the various HCI solutions will be merged into one powerful platform for paramedics.

HCI offers an integrated portfolio of EHRs, patient environments and e-health solutions for a broad group of healthcare providers and their patients. With the addition of SpotOnMedics, HCI is now the market leader in physical therapy and supports 1 in 4 paramedics in the Netherlands. In total, 40,000 healthcare providers and 3.5 million clients use HCI solutions daily.

Marc Prette, CEO of HCI, comments enthusiastically, "With SpotOnMedics, we are taking a leading position among physical therapists. By combining the strengths of the various HCI solutions, the best software becomes available to an even larger group of professionals and clients. This will allow us to make an even greater impact to make care easier and better. I look forward to continuing to work with the SpotOnMedics team to realize this ambition."

Geert van den Enden, managing director of SpotOnMedics, shares his enthusiasm: "New laws and regulations and new forms of collaboration around the client are constantly placing new demands on software and innovation. With HCI as a partner, we can accelerate our innovations and serve the paramedical market even better. We are proud to be part of the 'HCI family' and look forward to working together!"

Miranda Hendriks, CFRO VvAA, emphasizes, "We are pleased to have entered into this agreement with HCI. It allows them to take an even stronger position in the healthcare field. We are confident that HCI will provide the continuity that SpotOnMedics' customers and employees deserve. Because SpotOnMedics is at its core a software company, there was less synergy with our products and services. Therefore, we decided to sell SpotOnMedics. We look back on a pleasant cooperation in recent years.
