HCI – Health Cloud Initiative – has been selected as one of the three national providers of the Personal Health Environment (PHE) in a tender by the Dutch government. Together with the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS), we will work on the further development of the MedMij agreement system in the coming period. This selection is an important recognition of our expertise, strategy and our joining of forces as pioneers in personal health environments.
What is MedMij?
MedMij forms the basis for safe and reliable exchange of medical data between patients and healthcare providers. It enables patients to easily view, manage and share their own medical data, regardless of which healthcare provider the information is stored with. This contributes to better control for patients and more efficient work processes for healthcare providers.
What does this collaboration mean?
The selection by VWS not only offers HCI the opportunity to contribute to the future of the MedMij system, but also to ensure that patients and healthcare providers can optimally benefit from a digital healthcare environment. Our joint goal is to further develop the MedMij system into a user-friendly and robust facility, with which patients are truly central to their own healthcare network.
What does this mean for you as a healthcare provider?
For healthcare providers, such as general practitioners, pharmacies, mental health institutions, physiotherapists and other paramedics, this means:
- Efficient data exchange: Less time spent on administration and more time for patient care.
- Better patient engagement: Patients have direct access to their data and can come to consultations better prepared.
- Safety first: MedMij ensures a secure exchange of medical data.
How do we contribute?
We will work closely with VWS and other parties involved to further improve the MedMij system. Over the next three years, we will focus on:
- Integrations that seamlessly connect with the work processes of healthcare providers.
- Improved usability of PGOs for millions of users.
- Increasing awareness of digital care and MedMij among patients and healthcare providers.
- Connecting more healthcare providers to MedMij, with a focus on HCI segments such as mental health care, youth care and social domain, physiotherapists, dieticians, speech therapists and other paramedical professions.
A joint effort for future-proof care
This milestone is the result of collaboration within HCI, in which Uw Zorg Online and Quli play a crucial role. By combining our expertise, we realize innovative and scalable solutions that contribute to a digital healthcare landscape in which patients and healthcare providers are optimally supported.
We also congratulate Topicus and Curavista on their selection as co-parties in this tender. Together we are working on a future in which digital care really makes a difference.
