You will become the owner of a complete Mental Healthcare EHR: the entire product, from the moment a client walks in to the final invoice. As a Product Owner at HCI, Mental Care business unit, you will take charge of a new product in our EHR line. The product is still very much under development, so you have plenty of room to steer it in the right direction together with the market. You are at the center: between the customer, the consultants, sales, and the developers. And you will see the results of your work directly reflected in the practitioner.
What are you going to do?
Your primary goal is to make this EHR valuable to the people who work with it every day. You start by truly getting to know the product and the market. Next, you gather what is happening with customers and translate that into choices: what to build, and what not. You work closely with Chris-Jan, who determines the overarching strategy, and you coordinate with the other product owners within HCI. In this way, the product grows along with healthcare, and the practitioner notices this immediately.
Your tasks:
- You will get to know the EHR and the mental healthcare market from the inside.
- You gather what customers need, including through customer sessions.
- You substantiate choices about what is and is not built with facts.
- You liaise with the developers regarding the implementation and details.
- Together with the other product owners, you look for coherence between the products.

At Health Cloud Initiative (HCI), over 250 colleagues work towards one goal: better care, easily arranged. To this end, CRS has been building software for mental healthcare and youth care for over 25 years, and is now expanding the EHR line with a new product. Our software takes work off the hands of practitioners, so they have more time for their patients. Your work as a Product Owner contributes to this every day.
You are not alone. Within our organization, we have experienced product owners working on other SaaS products for healthcare, so you always have someone to brainstorm with. You also coordinate with colleagues from other business units, such as Paramedical and the Mental Care business unit, as the products are interconnected. Your manager is Chris-Jan, Head of Product at the Mental Care business unit. He comes from the mental healthcare sector himself, knows the product inside out, and is happy to share that knowledge. He is straightforward, gives you room to grow, and actually appreciates it when you challenge him with sound arguments.
What do we offer?
- Salary: €4.000 to €5.000 gross per month based on 40 hours.
- 8% holiday allowance and good pension scheme.
- Hybrid working: partly at the office in Amsterdam and Nijmegen, partly from home. You do part of your work in Amsterdam, close to the development team.

What are you bringing?
You understand mental healthcare. You have worked in that world or been closely involved as a consultant, and you know how an EHR works. You are proactive and independent, and you actively seek out what clients need. You dare to make choices and explain them, even if the answer is sometimes no. And you simply say what you think, because a good idea gets better when people push back against it.
- Higher professional or university working and thinking level.
- Good knowledge of mental healthcare, gained within the healthcare sector itself or as a consultant in that market.
- Understanding of how an EHR works, preferably with some technical affinity.
- Experience as a product owner is a plus, but not a must. We are happy to help you advance in the field.
- You are critical, steadfast, and explain your choices clearly.
- Excellent command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written.
