What will you do as a Software Development Intern in Wageningen?

As a software development intern at HCI, you'll have the opportunity to help build our software products for mental healthcare and social services. You'll collaborate with experienced developers on new features, improving existing modules, and optimizing the user experience. You'll have plenty of room to learn, experiment, and contribute your own ideas.

Depending on your interests, you can focus on frontend, backend or full-stack development — with modern technologies such as C#, .NET, Angular, Azure en SQL.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of our healthcare software.
  • Writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  • Testing and optimizing existing applications.
  • Thinking about architecture and UX improvements.
  • Collaborate with the development team and product owners on new releases.

Where do you end up?

HCI GGZ is a software company for mental healthcare and the social domain (Youth Care and Social Support Act). Our team of professionals provides daily support to institutions and practices with products such as an Electronic Patient Record (EPD) and a Client Portal.

HCI GGZ is part of Health Cloud Initiative, a company that develops software for healthcare professionals with a mission to improve healthcare in the Netherlands. We do this with software that supports healthcare providers and helps them provide better care. This makes healthcare providers happy and patients feel better.

You will join an enthusiastic team of software developers, testers and product owners, under the leadership of the Team Lead DevelopmentThe atmosphere is informal and inquisitive — we help each other and celebrate our successes together.

What you bring

You're enthusiastic, eager to learn, and eager to help build software that improves healthcare. You're meticulous, yet also willing to experiment and ask for feedback.

  • You are following a higher professional or university education in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar.
  • You have basic knowledge of C#, . NET or another programming framework.
  • Experience with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular or React) is an advantage.
  • You can work well with others and are not afraid to ask questions.
  • You are available for at least 4 months, preferably 5 days a week.
