Care Performance Model
General information about the ZPM can be found on the site set up by the NZa on this subject. We only present the gist of the changes below:
- Billing is done monthly;
- The billing base is the product of hours and rate;
- Only direct time is billed.
HCI GGZ is well prepared
During the implementation of the WMO path, we have already taken into account the introduction of new financing methods (indeed, in the plural). This comes in handy now. Our goal is that most HCI GGZ users - both social workers and secretaries - can continue to work as they are used to. The ZPM has no impact on how appointments are recorded in the calendar or how reports are recorded in files.
Implementation of the ZPM pathway.
In the calendar, depending on the activity code, each appointment is expected to have a certain performance, such as a DBC, BGGZ, Youth or WMO pathway. From January 2022, the ZPM pathway will be added. Agreements for a DBC or BGGZ pathway may only include dates before Jan. 1, 2022. A trajectory offers many advantages as a "container" for bringing together a client's appointments and activities, including data such as:
- referrer and referral date;
- linked diagnosis;
- target time;
- and more
Plus necessary data for billing such as setting and care demand typing. Although care demand typing is recorded, it is not yet used in contracting.
Configuration and customization
In our support portal and via instructional videos, we explain that new tables have been introduced. As with existing achievements, you can change the default configuration, although it is also possible to start directly with the default settings. These can always be changed later. We link activities to a care component to define the phase of treatment, important for distinguishing between intake and treatment phases. New activities can be added, described and linked to a ZPM activity yourself, similar to the way of working for a DBC and BGGZ trajectory.
Direct and indirect time
Although indirect time is not billed, it should still be recorded for several reasons, including:
- accountability time;
- Time display in calendars
- Productivity Measurement
- Reporting on direct/indirect time ratio
Default values for direct and indirect time are preset so you can get started right away. Changes to the configuration may involve separating activity codes for direct and indirect time or adjusting the default values.
Conclusion
Is it necessary to learn about the Care Performance Model? Yes, it is definitely recommended. Visit the website zorgprestatiemodel.nl for a comprehensive overview of how the model works. Is it necessary to spend money on consultants or external simulations? We advise against it. More important is to focus on providing quality care and to stay informed through our newsletter.
